 Aaron is an APA sports physiotherapist who provides services dedicated to cricket injuries. Notably he works extensively in the building and re-building of fast bowling actions following lumbar stress injuries

 Being a level 2 Cricket Australia coach and the only physiotherapist in Australia with  ActionTypes propeller training he is uniquely placed to understand how injury will impact performance and the individual nature of injury

Cricket specific injuries for fast bowlers include:

  •  Lumbar stress fractures

  • Side strains

  • Hamstring, quad, calf and hip flexor tears

  • Hip joint + pelvis dysfunction

  • Shoulder instability

  • Rotator cuff tears

  • Elbow impingement

  • Ankle impingement 

  • Shin splints

  • Patelofemoral and knee pain

  • Acute ankle sprains

 Some other injuries common in cricket include:

  •  Broken / dislocated fingers

  • Tennis and golfers elbow

  • Knee instability (ACL / MCL / PCL / meniscus)

  • Achilles and patellar tendinopathy

  • Wrist injuries

  • Growth related injuries

Your physiotherapy assessment will enable a thorough physical examination including objective outcome measures, a diagnosis, movement preference profile, technical analysis and an action plan for return to cricket performance. We offer either sessional or  rehab programs for full return to sport including rehab, strength & conditioning and technical coaching / correcting to meet your goals. These can be delivered in person, live video or virtual feedback or a hybrid combination.

 If your injury occurs during official cricket training or playing you may be eligible for some reimbursement from cricket Australia insurance program covering up to $5000 worth of rehab costs including MRI and Physio.
